Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Senior Instrumentation Engineer to oversee the execution of our project plans, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of all Instrument and Control outputs.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Implementing the work plan for the delivery of Instrument and Control project components.
  • Possessing a solid understanding of facility Instrument and Control design, including:
    • Functional requirements for Process Control and Safety Systems.
    • Application, installation, and connection of Process Instrumentation.
    • Installation and connection of Control and Safety Systems, encompassing field wiring, power needs, and circuit design.
Contributions to Project Documentation

Participate in the development of:

  • Process Control and Safety system inputs for P&IDs.
  • Instrument Index and I/O List.
  • Calculations for Instrument Selection and Sizing.
  • Specifications, Datasheets, Requisitions, and Bid Tabulations for Instruments.
  • Specifications for Control and Safety Systems.
  • Definitions of Control and Safety Logic, including Cause & Effect and SAFE Charts.
  • Wiring Diagrams and Loop Diagrams for Control Systems.
  • Plans for instrument locations, installation details, and Bill of Materials (MTO).
  • Drawings for Control Panel Fabrication and Equipment Layout.
Collaboration and Support

Work closely with other project disciplines to ensure optimal design integration and provide field construction support as necessary.

Leadership Duties

The role includes:

  • Understanding and executing the defined scope for the Instrument discipline.
  • Developing staffing plans and supporting project estimates.
  • Creating schedules in collaboration with other discipline leads.
  • Managing material requisitions and planning activities.
  • Identifying scope changes and coordinating change management at the project level.
  • Ensuring quality management of deliverables.
  • Maintaining effective communication with all team members, including timely report issuance.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in Instrument Design Engineering, particularly within the oil and gas sector.
  • A Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
