Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops essential project documentation to execute the comprehensive instrumentation engineering scope in alignment with project specifications and client expectations.
  • Formulates instrumentation system concepts, schedules deliverables, and organizes activities in accordance with the overall project timeline, while delegating tasks to team members and overseeing their progress.
  • Guides the instrumentation team in creating documentation, including design philosophies, block diagrams, room layouts, and deck arrangements.
  • Oversees system design verification activities, such as fire and gas coverage calculations.
  • Directs the preparation of procurement engineering documents, including technical specifications, equipment data sheets, material take-offs, and technical bid evaluations.
  • Engages in project meetings, technical discussions, 3D model reviews, and workshops, addressing fundamental technical inquiries related to instrumentation design and reviewing deliverables.
  • Contributes to functional safety assessment reviews, such as CHAZOP, ICSS design reviews, alarm reviews, and digital security evaluations.
  • Coordinates with clients, regulatory bodies, and classification authorities to ensure design compliance and approval of proposed project plans.
  • Generates progress reports for senior team members' review and approval before submission to clients and regulatory authorities, while maintaining a project database for future reference.
  • Conducts technical studies in collaboration with production team members and instrumentation vendors for conversion and repair projects.
  • Collaborates with procurement and project teams to identify instrumentation vendors that meet project technical specifications.
  • Prepares engineering deliverables such as block diagrams, termination diagrams, and equipment layouts in compliance with contractual, classification, and regulatory requirements, coordinating with various disciplines for material handling, constructability, and safety considerations.
  • Provides technical solutions to commercial, production, and project teams regarding all aspects of instrumentation engineering to support new builds, conversions, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisors as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in planning, designing, and constructing instrumentation systems within the oil and gas sector.
  • Proven experience in instrumentation and control system design during Pre-FEED, FEED, EPCC, conversion, and repair projects.
  • Familiarity with USCG and BSEE regulations is advantageous.
  • Exceptional proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to relocate as required.
