Job Overview

G.A.S. Global is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Control Engineer to enhance our Gas, Fuels & Chemicals division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for innovating advanced engineering solutions and mentoring fellow engineers. Required qualifications include a minimum of 5 years' experience in the gas, fuels, and chemicals sector, expertise in designing fertilizer production facilities, and proficiency in process control systems such as DCS, SIS, F&G, HIPPS, PLC, and SCADA. Familiarity with field instrumentation, HAZOP/LOPA methodologies, and tools like Smart Plant Instrumentation and MS Office is essential. Experience with LNG/FLNG and offshore oil and gas projects is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a principal Instrumentation & Controls Engineer, providing technical expertise and leadership within the Gas, Fuels & Chemicals sector.
  • Independently develop and implement innovative engineering techniques to tackle complex engineering challenges.
  • Oversee and delegate tasks to engineering personnel, offering direction and support as needed.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the gas, fuels, and chemicals industry.
  • Proven track record in the engineering and design of fertilizer facilities, specifically urea and ammonia.
  • Experience with floating LNG and offshore oil & gas projects is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate with large teams of engineering professionals across domestic and international offices to produce I&C engineering deliverables.
  • Experience working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Piping, Civil, and Marine engineers.
  • Expertise in designing, procuring, configuring, and troubleshooting various process control systems.
  • Experience in selecting, sizing, and specifying field instruments such as control valves, flow, level, pressure, and temperature sensors.
  • Participation in HAZOP/LOPA studies and addressing resulting action items.
  • Proficient in Smart Plant Instrumentation and MS Office applications.
  • Strong understanding of engineering design principles and relevant design standards.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering (PE) License or the capability to obtain one is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution is required.
