About the Role

Alexander Gow Fire Equipment Company is seeking a highly skilled Fire Suppression Department Manager to lead our team in Portland, OR. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the team responsible for kitchen suppression, service, and repair.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Growth and Development: Achieve robust business growth while ensuring high levels of employee and customer satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, coach, mentor, and lead field and administration teams, conducting annual reviews, and ensuring ongoing training and certification updates.
  • Customer Relationships: Act as the primary contact for Alexander Gow within the restaurant community and local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), nurturing relationships with strategic customers and industry associations.
  • Process Improvement: Enhance processes and maintain a positive culture across office and field teams to uphold Alexander Gow's values and reputation in the industry.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the Suppression Inspections Manager and the Operations Manager to manage revenue, margins, and operating expenses in your business unit to achieve monthly and annual business plan goals.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the suppression system or route-based industry.
  • Leadership: At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience, demonstrating effective team leadership.
  • Skills: Experience leading scheduling or route-based teams, with familiarity using ServiceTrade being advantageous.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; a college degree in business management or related field preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging diverse groups and teams effectively.
  • Financial Acumen: Thorough understanding of financial processes and budgeting principles.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
