Job Overview

We are seeking a Fire Sprinkler Test & Inspection Technician to become a vital part of our organization.

Compensation: Hourly pay range: $22-44/hour based on qualifications, certifications, and relevant experience.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

As a Fire Sprinkler Test & Inspection Technician, your primary responsibilities will include conducting inspections and tests on fire sprinkler systems, hood suppression systems, and backflow devices to ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations. This includes adherence to federal, state, and local laws, as well as customer specifications and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and testing of various fire sprinkler systems and hood suppression systems.
  • Evaluate and test backflow prevention devices in accordance with applicable codes and regulations, which may require separate certifications based on jurisdiction.
  • Assist in coordinating all aspects of life safety system testing.
  • Document all findings in compliance with NFPA and local standards.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, relaying important information to the appropriate personnel for follow-up.
  • Discuss any deficiencies identified with clients, providing clear explanations and resolutions.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in fire sprinkler systems.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • NICET II certification in Water-based systems.
  • Oregon Backflow Assembly Tester Certification is preferred.
  • Certificate of Fitness (COF) for Fire Sprinkler/Underground/Fire Extinguisher/Fire Suppression.
  • Proficient in basic computer operations including Windows, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Apple IOS, and Android.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Frequently lift and transport toolboxes, tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Capable of pushing or pulling weights up to 50 pounds.
