Job Responsibilities
  • Develop client relationships and pursue new business opportunities through strategic partnerships and business development initiatives.
  • Provide project management for multiple projects, including project planning, staffing, financial management, and successful project delivery through effective project coordination and team leadership.
  • Provide fire protection consulting engineering services to architects, developers, owners, government, and insurers through expert analysis and technical support.
  • Provide fire and life safety code consulting for relevant ICC codes and NFPA standards through thorough research and compliance analysis.
  • Develop fire models, smoke control models/analysis, and pressurization models/analysis through advanced computational methods and simulation tools.
  • Review and provide consulting for life safety, building, and fire code compliance through rigorous inspections and technical evaluations.
  • Perform structural fire calculations through advanced mathematical modeling and simulation techniques.
  • Develop fire safety strategies for special hazards through expert risk assessment and mitigation planning.
  • Deliver prescriptive and performance-based design strategies through innovative design solutions and technical expertise.
  • Design fire alarm, fire detection, and fire suppression systems through comprehensive system design and integration.
  • Review, develop, and commission smoke control systems through thorough system testing and validation.
  • Perform site visits and communicate with authorities having jurisdiction, architects, contractors, and consulting teams through effective stakeholder management and coordination.
  • Participate in and lead internal team meetings and external client meetings through strong communication and project management skills.
  • Present design approaches with authorities having jurisdiction through clear and concise technical presentations.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across multiple offices in a multi-discipline environment through effective teamwork and project coordination.
  • Manage profitability of projects and maintain working relationships with clients through strong business acumen and customer service skills.
  • Perform research and documentation for internal and external distribution through thorough research and technical writing.
  • Attend and participate in local and national trade organizations through professional development and industry engagement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering from an accredited college or university in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Sciences, or related engineering field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of professional working experience in Fire Protection.
  • A minimum of 2 years managing projects.
  • A P.E. license in Fire Protection Engineering or in the process of achieving this professional credential.
  • Strong communication skills essential for a team-based and team-leading working environment.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills required for our fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of relevant software, including FDS, CONTAM, egress modeling software, AutoCAD, Revit, BlueBeam, and the Microsoft Office suite of software.
