Position Overview:
The Maintenance Manager will oversee the Maintenance Department under the guidance of the Director of Maintenance and Engineering. This department is pivotal in ensuring all maintenance operations align with the company's objectives regarding employee safety, product quality, and customer satisfaction. The Maintenance Manager will guide their team in executing capital projects, qualifying equipment, validating processes, and adhering to operational standards and engineering best practices. This role requires strong technical management capabilities and a proactive approach to leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clear direction to maintenance teams to achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals.
  • Collaborate with operational partners to ensure effective teamwork across all departments.
  • Conduct daily meetings with shift leaders to review performance metrics.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels to support production and overtime objectives.
  • Work alongside the Continuous Improvement Team to develop training plans for technicians.
  • Monitor departmental labor and expense budgets.
  • Coordinate with the Planning Team to establish scheduled maintenance windows.
  • Mentor department supervisors to uphold training and operational standards.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure timely completion and documentation of all regulatory work.
  • Evaluate staff performance and implement necessary improvement measures.
  • Enforce health and safety protocols within the department.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to maintain high standards and meet KPIs.
  • Analyze operational issues to ensure safe and reliable equipment functionality.
  • Adhere to GMP and HAACP guidelines to guarantee food safety.
  • Oversee the performance of critical utility systems, monitoring data trends and responding to alarms.
  • Operate within established SOP parameters to maintain food quality and meet customer specifications.
  • Report any food safety and quality concerns to management.
  • Utilize root cause analysis to address operational challenges.
  • Ensure completion of preventative maintenance schedules for facilities and equipment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or 8-10 years of relevant experience in a food processing environment.
  • Proven success in production line installation and performance enhancement.
  • Demonstrated managerial experience in employee development and performance management.
  • Familiarity with engineering management software, including M.S. Project and CAD.
  • Knowledge of boiler systems, air compressors, cooling systems, building maintenance, and wastewater management.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Six Sigma, TPM, or LEAN methodologies.
  • Experience with thermal processing and aseptic filling systems.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk and move about regularly.
  • Occasional requirements to sit, squat, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and lift/carry up to 25 lbs.

Additional Compensation:
Eligible for participation in the Employee Bonus Program, with a maximum potential bonus of up to 15% of the annual base salary, prorated based on hire date and dependent on company financial performance.
