Position Overview:

The Bottling Operations Maintenance Lead operates with minimal supervision, taking initiative to oversee and coordinate the efforts of mechanics, installers, and repair technicians involved in the maintenance of automated, servo-mechanical, electromechanical, or electro-pneumatic systems that support bottling and production processes.

This role leverages a combination of expertise and teamwork to enhance overall productivity, quality, safety, and cost-efficiency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign daily tasks and assess team performance to fulfill production targets.
  • Lead by example, promoting a strong work ethic and cultivating an atmosphere of trust and respect.
  • Guide the team in the efficient use of resources to minimize waste and ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Provide timely feedback and assist team members to sustain productivity and achieve daily objectives.
  • Communicate staffing needs to management.
  • Ensure a safe and rewarding work environment, delivering relevant safety training and addressing safety concerns promptly.
  • Support organizational changes and decisions effectively.
  • Maintain open communication with management regarding employee issues and concerns in a confidential manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations during daily operations, reporting any infractions to management.
  • Adhere to departmental performance management guidelines and ensure proper documentation; train employees and identify development opportunities.
Essential Duties:

  • Establish and enhance maintenance planning and scheduling processes, focusing on preventative and reactive maintenance based on production priorities and team skillsets.
  • Maintain and improve the spare parts inventory system, including requisitions, receiving, stocking, and conducting audits.
  • Mentor team members through coaching and feedback to empower them to perform optimally.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving during operational challenges.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and managers to ensure quality and efficiency in bottling production.
  • Enforce safety and compliance standards consistently.
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an AA/AS degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is advantageous.
  • 5-7 years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of automated or electromechanical systems in a production environment.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze machine diagnostics and repair manuals to resolve equipment issues.
  • Strong problem sensitivity and the ability to identify potential issues.
  • Proficient in various software applications related to maintenance and operations.
  • Knowledge of electronic systems and programming.
Working Conditions:

Exposure to a typical production environment with varying temperature and humidity levels, as well as dust and fumes. The role requires the use of personal protective equipment and operates on a rotating shift schedule.
