Position: Project Management Co-Op

Overview:

The Co-op will collaborate closely with Transition Managers to support the operations and projects of the Transition Group. This role serves as a vital link between sales and operational teams, evaluating clients' facility needs by analyzing their existing equipment, processes, and service providers. The Transition Group is responsible for developing, staffing, and sourcing all necessary elements of the maintenance program aimed at minimizing operational costs while enhancing the management and value of facility expenditures. The Co-op will engage in activities that support facilities management and continuous improvement initiatives while interacting with clients, sales, procurement, and operations teams. Candidates should be prepared to work in diverse environments, from office settings to industrial sites, and may need to travel for client projects across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Transition Director with tasks such as:
    • Preparing Work-in-Progress Reports for ongoing projects
    • Conducting Cost and Labor Data Analysis
    • Researching and drafting Preventative Maintenance Specifications
    • Coding Specialized Work Orders
    • Creating Facility Maintenance Work Orders
    • Projecting Labor and Material Costs/Budgeting
    • Documenting Clients' Facility Equipment and Services
    • Generating Purchase Orders in written or electronic formats
    • Managing Electronic Documents and Records
    • Preparing Presentations for Functional and Cross-Functional Teams
  • Participate in training and gain experience in areas such as:
    • Project Management and PMO structures
    • Operational and Maintenance of Facility Equipment
    • Identifying Facility Equipment
    • Researching Preventative Maintenance Specifications
    • Managing Maintenance Work Orders
    • Budgeting for Projects
    • Developing and Training Workflow Processes
    • Enhancing Customer Service and Client Communication Skills
    • Understanding Change Order Processes
    • Invoicing and Financial Reporting
    • Analyzing Labor, Cost, and Progress Reports
    • Utilizing Project Management software
    • Comprehending Key Performance Indicators and Business Metrics
    • Using Visio Software for Site Mapping and Chart Creation
    • Adhering to Safety and OSHA Regulations
    • Leading Cross-Functional Teams
  • Engage in weekly feedback sessions, monthly formal assessments, and a final performance review
  • Compile and present a comprehensive recap of learning experiences in a 30-minute presentation to the Senior Transition Team at the conclusion of the term

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or technical institution, or possess equivalent training and experience
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Proficient in writing specifications, task schedules, and compiling budgets. Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to present effectively to groups
  • Intermediate proficiency in computers and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel. Familiarity with Project, Visio, and JDE CMMS software is advantageous but not mandatory
