Position: Project Management Co-Op
Overview:
The Project Management Co-Op will collaborate closely with Transition Managers to support the operations and initiatives of the Transition Group. This role serves as a vital link between sales and operational teams, evaluating clients' facility requirements by analyzing their existing equipment, processes, and service providers. The Transition Group is responsible for developing, staffing, and sourcing all essential elements of the maintenance program aimed at minimizing operational costs while enhancing the management and value of facility expenditures. The Co-Op will engage in various tasks related to facilities management and continuous improvement projects, working alongside clients, sales, procurement, and operations personnel. Flexibility to work in diverse environments, from office settings to industrial sites, is essential, as is the willingness to travel for client projects nationwide.
Learning Objectives:
- Understanding of Facility Management principles

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Transition Director with the following tasks:
- Preparation of Work-in-Progress Reports for ongoing projects
- Analysis of Cost and Labor Data
- Research and documentation of Preventative Maintenance Specifications
- Coding of Specialized Work Orders
- Creation of Facility Maintenance Work Orders
- Budgeting for Labor and Material Costs
- Documentation of Clients' Facility Equipment and Services
- Generation of Purchase Orders, both written and electronic
- Management of Electronic Documents and Records
- Preparation of Presentations for Functional and Cross-Functional Teams
- Participate in training and gain experience in:
- Project Management and PMO operations
- Understanding Business Unit Structures
- Facility Equipment Operation and Maintenance
- Identification of Facility Equipment
- Management of Maintenance Work Orders
- Project Budgeting processes
- Development and Training of Workflow Processes
- Customer Service and Client Communication Skills
- Change Order Procedures
- Invoicing and Financial Reporting
- Data Analysis related to Labor, Costs, and Progress Reports
- Utilization of Project Management software
- Understanding Key Performance Indicators and Business Metrics
- Use of Visio Software for Site Mapping and Chart Creation
- Knowledge of Safety and OSHA Regulations
- Leadership in Cross-Functional Teams
- Engage in weekly feedback sessions, monthly formal assessments, and a final performance review
- Compile and present a comprehensive recap of learning experiences at the conclusion of the term to the Senior Transition Team
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or technical institution, or equivalent training and experience
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals; proficiency in writing specifications, task schedules, and budget compilations
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to groups
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel; familiarity with Project, Visio, and JDE CMMS software is advantageous but not mandatory
