Position: Project Management Co-Op

Overview:

The Project Management Co-Op will collaborate closely with Transition Managers, contributing to the operations and initiatives of the Transition Group. This role serves as a vital link between sales and operational teams, evaluating client facility requirements by analyzing existing equipment, workflows, and service providers. The Transition Group is responsible for developing, staffing, and sourcing essential components of maintenance programs aimed at minimizing operational costs while enhancing the management and value of facility expenditures. The Co-Op will engage in various tasks supporting facilities management and continuous improvement projects, working alongside clients, sales, procurement, and operations teams. Flexibility to work in diverse environments, from office settings to industrial sites, is expected, along with potential travel for client projects across the nation.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding of Facility Management principles

  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Active participation in a dynamic Project Management Office (PMO)

Key Responsibilities:

    • Facility Equipment Operation and Maintenance
    • Preventative Maintenance Specification Research
    • Management of Maintenance Work Orders
    • Project Budgeting techniques

    • Invoicing and Financial Reporting
    • Data Analysis of Labor, Cost, and Progress Reports
    • Utilization of Project Management software

  • Participate in regular feedback sessions, formal assessments, and a concluding performance review
  • Compile and present a comprehensive recap presentation at the end of the term to the Senior Transition Team, summarizing all learning experiences

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or technical institution, or equivalent training and experience
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Ability to interpret safety regulations, operational manuals, and procedural documents; strong writing skills for specifications and project schedules; effective communication skills for group presentations
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel); familiarity with Project, Visio, and JDE CMMS software is advantageous but not mandatory
