Position Summary:

We are in search of a passionate and skilled IT and Cybersecurity Educator to fill a vital role within our organization. This position is focused on training students who are at risk and may be academically behind as they approach their junior year of high school. The primary objective is to inspire these students and equip them with the necessary skills for successful careers in the fields of IT and Cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Design: Create and implement comprehensive training modules in IT and Cybersecurity, specifically designed to cater to the needs of at-risk students.
  • Instructional Delivery: Conduct engaging and effective training sessions that accommodate various learning styles and academic abilities.
  • Student Engagement: Utilize innovative teaching techniques to captivate students, cultivate a supportive learning atmosphere, and generate enthusiasm for future career prospects.
  • Progress Assessment: Regularly evaluate student performance, identify areas needing improvement, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Career Support: Offer guidance and resources to help students navigate potential career paths in IT and Cybersecurity.
  • Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and role model, providing encouragement and support to help students overcome obstacles and maintain motivation.
  • Community Collaboration: Partner with local organizations and community groups to promote the educational program and attract students.
  • Professional Growth: Stay informed about the latest advancements and trends in IT and Cybersecurity, integrating this knowledge into the training curriculum.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Education, or a related discipline is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in teaching or training, particularly with at-risk or underserved populations. Experience in IT and Cybersecurity is essential.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of IT and Cybersecurity principles, tools, and best practices.
    • Exceptional instructional and presentation abilities.
    • Capability to design engaging curricula and adapt teaching strategies to various learning preferences.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for teaching and mentoring.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in IT and Cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)) are highly desirable.
  • Additional Requirements: Must demonstrate a commitment to promoting educational equity and inclusion.
