OVERVIEW:

As part of the City Colleges of Chicago's Continuing Education Department, the instructor plays a pivotal role in advancing the Cybersecurity training initiative.

This position involves planning, organizing, and overseeing various components of the training program while assessing student progress and success.

As a subject matter expert, the instructor collaborates with colleagues and educational partners to develop tailored learning solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ideal candidate will exhibit proficiency in conveying complex technical information, a dedication to incorporating innovative technologies into the educational framework, and the capability to inspire and empower students towards achieving their goals.

  • Source and curate educational materials that align with desired learning outcomes and encourage active student engagement.
  • Create a stimulating learning atmosphere that nurtures students' intellectual curiosity and enhances their problem-solving skills through discipline-specific methodologies.
  • Utilize a diverse range of formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning and ensure the achievement of educational objectives.
  • Support students in reaching their academic, personal, and professional aspirations while fostering an inclusive environment that values diversity and encourages respect for all individuals.
  • Engage in leadership roles within the academic and professional community, promoting collaboration and dialogue among peers across different campuses.
  • Maintain virtual office hours to provide mentorship and guidance to students.
  • Collaborate with the instructional team to enhance program design and management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred qualifications include CompTIA Security+ certification and being an alumnus of the CCC Cybersecurity Boot Camp. A strong passion for the cybersecurity field and familiarity with industry trends and resources are essential.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required, with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with a diverse student body and staff.
