Key Responsibilities:

The Lead Manager of Aircraft Cybersecurity Operations will serve as a technical authority, guiding a team of innovative cybersecurity engineers in evaluating and upholding the comprehensive security framework of United's aircraft-related products and services.

This role involves formulating and executing strategies to ensure compliance with aircraft cybersecurity regulations and standards mandated by relevant authorities.

The individual will effectively collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, including industry groups and regulatory bodies, to shape the aircraft cybersecurity approach.

Aircraft Cybersecurity Management:

  • Deliver regular updates and educational sessions to staff and management regarding aircraft cybersecurity.
  • Oversee the administrative management of aircraft cybersecurity professionals, including HR tasks and performance evaluations.
  • Define priorities, allocate resources, and track progress on projects and assignments.

Interface Management:

  • Monitor changes in aircraft regulations and compliance standards, proactively updating best practices and architectures.
  • Lead and assess the aircraft cybersecurity department's operations to ensure the security and integrity of United's aircraft-related systems.
  • Establish partnerships across various business functions to enhance awareness and support for aircraft cybersecurity initiatives.

Execution and Support:

  • Guide the development and implementation of aircraft cybersecurity strategies aligned with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and enforce aircraft cybersecurity standards and best practices.
  • Lead risk assessments and coordinate remediation efforts for non-compliant items.
  • Be prepared to respond to unforeseen cybersecurity incidents and risk management challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM or Engineering discipline.
  • 9+ years of relevant experience in aircraft engineering, cybersecurity, or related fields.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Experience in risk management and leading teams to identify strategic risks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree and relevant certifications.
  • 12+ years of related experience.
  • Strong understanding of aviation cybersecurity and related systems.
