The Process Lead plays a crucial role as a key member of the production team, tasked with overseeing and guiding their crew in the safe execution of the daily manufacturing objectives and related support functions within their designated area. This position involves approximately 30% hands-on process work and 70% focused on leadership and administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the performance of the team in terms of safety, quality, delivery, and productivity; ensuring adherence to Vestas' safety and quality standards while proactively addressing any challenges that may impact employee safety, product quality, and adherence to production schedules.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that encourages safety, teamwork, accountability, and ownership among team members.
Leadership and Management
  • Serve as a role model for Vestas' core values, demonstrating integrity, initiative, and reliability while promoting a respectful and inclusive work environment.
  • Be recognized as a natural leader capable of building high-performing teams and inspiring excellence among all team members.
  • Encourage team participation and collaboration by soliciting input on process enhancements and implementing team suggestions.
  • Translate leadership goals into actionable tasks and ensure the completion of daily production objectives, while overseeing team performance in safety, quality, and delivery.
  • Optimize resource allocation, including personnel, materials, and equipment, while adhering to organizational policies and regulations.
  • Facilitate open communication among team members and management, ensuring transparency and collaboration across all levels.
  • Mentor team members and temporary staff to enhance their understanding of safety practices, quality standards, and efficient task completion.
Safety Responsibilities
  • Exemplify safe behavior and hazard awareness, promoting an incident-free culture among team members.
  • Ensure compliance with established safety protocols and environmental health standards, with a focus on Vestas' Lifesaving Rules.
  • Oversee the safe onboarding of new team members, ensuring they receive comprehensive training on safety procedures and equipment usage.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any identified hazards, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with safety representatives to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Quality Assurance
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications, guiding the team in following prescribed work instructions and quality messages.
  • Lead quality inspections and address any deviations or defects promptly.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for quality issues and support the implementation of corrective measures.
Training and Development
  • Facilitate on-the-job training for new hires and team members transitioning into the area, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles.
  • Monitor training progress and provide feedback to management regarding team members' readiness for independent work.
Administrative Duties
  • Provide performance feedback for team members, contributing to evaluations and development plans.
  • Analyze process performance metrics and lead initiatives to address quality issues and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, promoting adherence to 5S principles.
Essential Functions:
  • Ability to recognize alarms and follow verbal instructions.
  • Compliance with PPE requirements for the role.
  • Capacity to work in environments with chemicals and materials in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Regular attendance and ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving materials.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED, with relevant experience or training in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a process area or previous leadership role within Vestas.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management applications.
Work Environment:

The work environment may involve exposure to mechanical parts and moderate noise levels typical of a manufacturing setting. Safety precautions are essential to mitigate physical hazards associated with equipment and machinery.
