Position Overview

Core Schedule: Monday to Friday, typically 9 AM to 5 PM, with some variations and on-call responsibilities.

Role Summary: This position requires a licensed or provisionally licensed therapist with diverse experience to support clients in individual, family, or group settings. The therapist must demonstrate proficiency in delivering services across various environments. Adherence to Boys & Girls Haven's clinical protocols, as well as agency and departmental policies, is essential, alongside compliance with ethical standards governing the discipline.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Client Treatment: Maintain confidentiality of client information. Collaborate with clients, staff, and external agencies. Complete initial assessments and treatment plans within 24 hours of admission. Conduct comprehensive assessments within 30 days of admission as per clinical protocols. Develop treatment plans based on assessments and communicate recommendations to relevant parties. Provide individual, group, and family therapy as indicated. Ensure timely documentation of clinical and outcome procedures. Work collaboratively with social services and community resources for client benefit. Build rapport with clients, families, and support systems. Assist clients in achieving their treatment goals through planned interventions. Address crises effectively and provide clinical on-call coverage as needed. Collaborate with program staff for milieu coverage on an as-needed basis. Undertake additional clinical duties as assigned.
  2. Training and Development: Comply with all licensing, accreditation, and regulatory standards. Evaluate the need for ongoing clinical training and assist in curriculum modifications as necessary. Attend a minimum of 40 hours of training annually to maintain required certifications.
  3. Administrative Duties: Complete necessary forms, reports, evaluations, and other documentation in a timely manner.
  4. Additional Responsibilities: Participate in the recruitment process as requested and contribute innovative ideas for attracting clinical staff.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
  2. Experience: A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience is preferred, particularly with adolescents and young adults in relevant settings. Must possess appropriate professional licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPCA, LPCC, MFTA, or LWT). Candidates with CSW, LPCA, or MFTA under supervision will be considered. Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in relevant software are required.
  3. Other Requirements: Professional interaction with clients, visitors, and government agencies is essential. Maintain confidentiality of all client information. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S. A valid driver’s license and insurability by the company’s insurance carrier are required for those expected to transport clients. Successful completion of background screenings and pre-employment drug tests is mandatory.

Physical Demands: The role requires standing, walking, sitting, and manual dexterity. Employees must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and possess specific vision abilities.

Work Environment: The position is primarily office-based, with interactions involving clients and their families in various settings. Employees may encounter challenging behaviors and varying levels of crisis among young clients. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate.
