Position Overview: We are in search of a Counselor Supervisor who will oversee the team of Counselors and Counselor Interns dedicated to providing treatment and case management services to individuals facing substance use challenges. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations as well as adhering to BayMark's policies and procedures. The clinical supervisor will be responsible for the timely documentation of patient services in alignment with the established care plans. It is crucial to assess and address the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of the patients under their care. Additionally, the supervisor will manage associated expenditures responsibly, in accordance with the company's financial guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Counselors as patient census increases.
  • Conduct individual counseling sessions.
  • Coordinate the care of assigned patients and communicate their status and concerns with the treatment team.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans that meet State regulatory standards.
  • Deliver clinical services, patient education, and counseling for opiate addiction to those undergoing methadone maintenance and detoxification.
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in a human services field with 2 years of clinical experience (including 1 year working directly with individuals with substance use disorders).
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3 years of clinical experience (including 1 year working with the substance use population).
  • Certification and/or licensure from the appropriate state body with 3 years of clinical experience (including 1 year working with individuals with substance use disorders).
  • Graduation from a substance abuse certification program is required.
  • Must hold certification or licensure from an approved certifying body.
  • Experience working with the substance use population is essential.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficient in conducting assessments, utilizing ASI criteria for patient placement, developing and implementing treatment plans, coordinating services, and crisis intervention.
  • Excellent documentation and computer skills are required.
  • Able to work effectively within a medical hierarchy, assist in complex problem-solving with clients, and operate independently.
  • Demonstrates good time management abilities.
  • Capable of working with a diverse population and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
