Role Summary
The Director of Equity, Compliance, and Title IX plays a pivotal role in ensuring AJU's adherence to Title IX and related regulations. This position is essential for fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all members of the AJU community, including students, faculty, and staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Title IX Coordinator and Section 504 Coordinator, overseeing compliance and conducting necessary investigations.
  • Provide expert guidance on university policies related to Title IX, Section 504, and the Clery Act.
  • Ensure compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act, including the preparation of the annual security report.
  • Respond to student crises and provide on-call support as needed.
  • Collaborate with psychological services to assist students in need.
  • Guarantee equitable access to university programs and facilities.
  • Maintain comprehensive records related to Title IX and compliance efforts.
  • Update university policies to align with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct assessments and research best practices for continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with various university departments to enhance compliance efforts.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in higher education or compliance roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state laws regarding Title IX and civil rights.
  • Experience in conducting investigations and resolving complaints.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement training programs.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
