Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Management
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk registry and process development framework to identify, assess, and mitigate risks
    • Create and refine strategic risk indicators, dashboards, and key performance indicators to monitor and review the enterprise risk framework
  • Compliance Oversight
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive and consistent compliance program across the organization
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards
    • Oversee EEO investigations and compliance, ensuring fairness and adherence to governance processes
  • Quality Assurance, Governance, and Controls
    • Lead quality assurance and quality control initiatives to maintain high operational standards
    • Administer special investigations to address any compliance or risk-related issues that arise
    • Design and implement governance processes to enhance operational integrity and transparency
Requirements

Qualified applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and at least four years of management experience at the Director level with progressively increasing responsibility in risk management, investigations, compliance and quality control, and/or system design and development.

A demonstrated background in effectively managing compliance programs, interpreting and implementing regulations, and working with regulatory bodies is required.

Candidates must demonstrate the level and impact of their leadership experience through specific projects and/or initiatives listed on their resume.

Preferred Qualifications

Related certifications, such as the Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), or Certified Risk & Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP), are preferred.

Industry knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to risk management and compliance in an industry related to the position, such as a municipal utility, is preferred.

Benefits

The current salary range is $268,725 to $333,871 per year. A highly competitive benefits package includes benefits established by resolutions of the Board of Water and Power Commissioners, such as parking, a take-home vehicle, subsidized health and dental insurance, sick leave, vacation, two floating holidays, 13 paid holidays, an annual executive physical (must be taken while employed), life insurance, retirement, and disability/death benefits.
