Position Title: Chief Financial Officer

Role Summary:

We are in search of a proactive and seasoned Chief Financial Officer to lead our financial management and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in fund management, real estate, and private equity finance, demonstrating a proven track record in enhancing financial performance and streamlining operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Oversight and Compliance:

  • Direct the preparation and presentation of financial statements, reports, and analyses for the management company.
  • Evaluate financial statements generated by fund administrators and property managers for accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal teams to fulfill all reporting obligations.
  • Supervise fund accounting, audit, and tax processes, collaborating with external administrators.
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures, particularly for asset valuations.
  • Implement robust internal controls to protect company assets and mitigate financial risks.

Budgeting and Financial Planning:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting for the management company.
  • Continuously refine budgeting practices, financial projections, and operational forecasts.
  • Provide monthly financial reports and variance analyses to company leadership.
  • Support capital call, distribution, and cash reserve planning activities.

Cash Management and Treasury:

  • Prepare and manage cash flow projections and daily cash activities.
  • Forecast cash generation and utilization, proposing distribution amounts quarterly.
  • Oversee banking relationships and cash reserves.
  • Develop strategies to enhance cash efficiency and minimize financial exposure.

Insurance and Risk Management:

  • Oversee insurance programs to ensure adequate coverage for all assets.
  • Manage the claims process in collaboration with third-party administrators.
  • Implement best practices in risk management across the investment portfolios.

Family and Partnership Accounting:

  • Translate partnership-level accounting into individual financial statements for principals and family members.
  • Ensure compliance with estate planning requirements.
  • Provide necessary documentation to external tax preparers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • CPA or CFA designation is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years in real estate investment or a related sector.
  • Dependable team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain a strategic perspective.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid office environment as determined by management.
