Role Summary:

In light of our significant growth, we are on the lookout for an Executive Vice President of Logistics to join our leadership team. This pivotal role involves collaborating with senior executives and departmental leaders to ensure that Lakeshore's operational objectives are clearly defined and aligned with the company's strategic vision. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to strategize and work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Experience in managing distribution operations across multiple locations in both B2B and B2C contexts is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the formulation, management, and implementation of the strategic operational plan for all facets of our distribution and fulfillment processes.
  • Collaborate closely with the executive team and department heads to prioritize projects, establish ambitious yet attainable goals aimed at enhancing efficiency, and align with broader company objectives.
  • Guide, mentor, and support the on-site management team to foster a culture of learning and achievement.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of daily operations, financial metrics, workforce management, backlog, and service performance.
  • Implement revisions and improvements to scheduling, resource allocation, and production needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
  • Focus on enhancing productivity while minimizing operational expenses.
  • Ensure that key performance indicators (KPIs) across all locations meet or exceed established standards.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process.
  • Lead network design initiatives to facilitate future growth.
  • Evaluate distribution center networks to identify and strategize opportunities for expansion.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Utilize analytics and business acumen to identify, prioritize, and resolve complex operational challenges.
Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a distribution center environment is mandatory.
  • Over 10 years of comprehensive logistics, distribution, and supply chain management experience in progressively senior roles within a high-volume retail distribution context, including automation.
  • At least 5 years of experience in e-commerce, direct-to-consumer operations, and high-volume logistics.
  • Experience with small parcel freight and LTL contracts, along with knowledge of ocean, rail, and intermodal transportation.
  • Strong background in inventory management, including both rack and bulk storage solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in managing significant capital investment projects, including automation and software integrations.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles is advantageous.
  • Ability to analyze profit and loss statements and manage expense controls effectively.
  • Skilled in fostering collaboration and communication across various departments.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
