ABOUT THE POSITION: The Field Organizer plays a crucial role in spearheading Mission Edge's voter education and engagement initiatives. This position will work closely with the Community Organizing & Outreach Coordinator to mobilize volunteers, coordinate outreach efforts, and provide essential voter education to the community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Recruit volunteers for various outreach activities, including phone banks and canvassing efforts.
  • Plan and execute all outreach events, ensuring effective engagement with the community.
  • Manage data within the voter contact database and oversee outreach campaigns.
  • Facilitate communication between Mission Edge and partner organizations involved in civic engagement.
  • Engage community partners in promoting voter education initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of engagement activities.
  • Provide support for additional voter engagement programs as needed.
  • Participate in organizational meetings and contribute to programmatic support.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: 1-2 years in campaign-related or community organizing roles is preferred. Experience in LGBTQ+ advocacy is a plus.
  • Education: A combination of relevant experience and education will be considered.
  • Field of Expertise: Knowledge of LGBTQ+ issues and community organizing is essential.
  • Diversity and Inclusivity: Proven experience working with diverse populations and a strong understanding of equity and inclusivity.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Outreach: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively connect with various community members.
  • Planning & Organizing: Strong organizational skills to manage outreach campaigns and meet deadlines.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with voter databases is preferred.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
