Position: Lead Survey Office Technician
Type: Fulltime, Direct hire, Onsite
Job Summary:
The Lead Survey Office Technician will play a crucial role within a dedicated team, engaging in the daily execution of diverse land surveying and mapping initiatives across multiple sectors, leveraging tools from various production areas within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate independently alongside a licensed surveyor on a variety of survey assignments related to public utilities, infrastructure projects, and land development. Tasks may include, but are not limited to: Boundary Surveys, Topographical Surveys, Right of Way Surveys, Terrestrial & Mobile Laser Scanning, Legal Descriptions, Horizontal & Vertical Control Networks, Aerial Mapping, Construction Staking, As-built Surveys & Mapping, GIS services, and other related survey/mapping documentation.
- Assist in production activities such as GPS post-processing, Civil3D linework generation, and map preparation.
- Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by management.
- Engage in Survey user group meetings and project initiation meetings as necessary.
- Perform additional related survey office tasks as required.
Supervisory Role:
This position does not entail any supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in land survey projects, particularly in property boundary surveys.
- Land-Surveyor-In-Training (LSIT) certification is a plus.
- Experience in reviewing record documents and researching property boundaries.
- Proficient and experienced user of AutoCAD Civil3D, Trimble Business Center (TBC), and other standard mapping and survey processing software.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office for creating and editing professional documents.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
Work Environment:
Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. Some regional travel may be necessary.
