Key Responsibilities

This role reports to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid - Technology & Compliance and is responsible for assessing and confirming financial aid applications, aiding in reporting to support the distribution of financial aid to eligible students, managing financial aid workflows, and allocating financial aid.

This position encompasses various functions within the Financial Aid Office. Responsibilities include reviewing files and verifying information, engaging with students and/or families, and being available to discuss or present financial aid topics at different events. Additionally, this role will assist in the allocation of various Title IV and State funds, along with processing University and external scholarships. Precision and meticulousness are essential.

Responsibilities Include
  • Evaluating financial aid applications to award financial aid to eligible students in accordance with established guidelines and in compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Allocating financial aid to eligible students.
  • Managing processes or applications when issues arise.
  • Assisting in the collection, preparation, and analysis of financial aid data for stakeholders.
  • Acting as a liaison to third-party stakeholders regarding financial aid information and procedures.
  • May recruit, train, and oversee student employees.
Required Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree with 2 years of experience in a higher education setting at the time of application.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1 year of direct experience in Student Services within a University environment.
  • Familiarity with an integrated student information system (PeopleSoft preferred).
  • Experience with standard desktop hardware and business software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Knowledge of various financial aid programs managed by the Financial Aid Office (e.g., federal and state aid programs, Veterans benefits, scholarships, etc.).
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Hmong, Oneida, or Somali.

Appointment Conditions

Some travel may be necessary for meetings, workshops, conferences, etc. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required and will be assigned by the supervisor as needed. This position may offer the option to work on-campus or in a hybrid capacity, subject to an approved telecommuting request.

This is a full-time Academic Staff appointment. Official transcripts of the highest degree attained will be required from finalists. A criminal background check will be conducted on finalists. The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay does not sponsor H-1B or other work authorization visas for this position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout their employment.

Compensation and Benefits

SALARY INFORMATION

Minimum salary of $43,888.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

BENEFIT DETAILS

The UW System offers a comprehensive benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees. This includes several health insurance options, with annual deductibles as low as $250 for individuals and $500 for families. Our benefits package also encompasses dental, vision, various life insurance options, AD&D and Accident insurance, and Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately, and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.

Additionally, employees receive various types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for those working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday, and a specified number of sick leave hours annually. Employees earn between 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.
