Role Overview
The Senior Analyst, Insurance Risk Modeling plays a crucial role in the creation of insurance liability models utilized for pricing, valuation, hedging, and Asset Liability Management (ALM).
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop insurance liability models within GA Risk's modeling platform.
  • Effectively communicate findings and their implications to the Risk management team and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the integration of various Institutional transactions into our Risk platform.
  • Conduct liability stress tests from multiple perspectives (GAAP/Stat/Econ/Bermuda) while comprehending both actuarial and market risks.
  • Support the launch of new products and ensure that risk models are updated with regular rate adjustments and new product features.
  • Perform validation and control reviews of actuarial and financial models, assessing methodologies and assumptions.
  • Contribute to the development and application of quantitative models and analytical tools that empower the Risk function to challenge existing risk management, modeling, and pricing practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field is required; a Master's Degree in a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a diversified life and annuity or actuarial consulting firm.
  • Professional designation in financial risk management, such as FSA/ASA or CFA, is preferred.
  • Proven experience in modeling complex insurance products for at least 2 years.
  • Familiarity with insurance products, including both life and annuities, is preferred.
  • Previous experience in hedging or ALM is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
