Executive Director of Sales and Product Management

Del Monte Fresh Produce Company NA Inc is seeking a highly skilled Executive Director of Sales and Product Management. This key role oversees both Sales and Product Management for the Citrus program, focusing on process improvement to drive growth and diversification. The ideal candidate will lead the distribution strategy, achieve revenue and margin goals, and collaborate with other departments to promote the company's product line.
Salary:The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000-$150,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure reflects market standards for similar positions in the produce industry.
Job Description:This role is responsible for developing and managing strategic plans, budget, volume, and revenue objectives to meet targets while controlling sales initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Forecasting future demands, volume, and revenue projections to ensure compliance with objectives;
- Expanding sales opportunities within the region by developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new customers;
- Managing daily inventory of products to the sales team;
- Resolving customer issues through effective communication and problem-solving skills;
- Collaborating with Operations to monitor vessel arrivals and develop contingency plans as needed;
- Building market intelligence to identify new opportunities for growth and providing market updates to the team;
- Negotiating pricing and volume with assigned customers to achieve sales objectives.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for:
- Managing customers' order entry systems, including creating sales orders, assigning carriers, and managing daily changes;
- Building relationships with DCs, Port, Coordination, Operations, Transportation Teams to deliver best-in-class customer service;
- Providing regular updates to the Director of Sales & Product Management on department matters, special projects, and associated reports.
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- A 4-year Degree (Business or related field) from an accredited institution and/or equivalent work experience;
- At least 5 years of fresh produce sales experience (i.e., large retailers, wholesalers, food service, and small independent and cash customers);
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook);
- Knowledge of logistics involved within the produce industry;
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral);
- Ability to work within a team environment, problem-solve, complete tasks independently, and learn new skills and tasks as needed;
- Flexibility to travel as needed;
- Knowledge and understanding of Key Financial Indicators.
Prior experience in a senior leadership role or equivalent would be advantageous. Additionally, knowledge of current practices, trends, technology, and information affecting the produce industry would be beneficial.
