Front Line Ambassador for New York Botanical Garden

At the New York Botanical Garden, we're seeking a highly skilled Front Line Ambassador to join our team. As a Front Line Ambassador, you will be instrumental in providing an exceptional visitor experience by greeting and serving visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Your primary responsibility will be to sell admissions, parking tickets, encourage and sell memberships, and guide visitors to locations of interest throughout the Garden.
As a key representative of our institution, you will embody our Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility initiatives and contribute to building and maintaining an inclusive organizational culture. This role requires a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service, ensuring that all visitors have an enjoyable and memorable experience.
The specific duties and responsibilities of this role include:
- Staying up-to-date on ticket types for all Garden activities and events.
- Providing visitors with accurate and timely information about Garden events, exhibitions, and attractions.
- Becoming knowledgeable about admissions apparatus and policies.
- Encouraging and facilitating membership sales transactions.
- Conducting all transactions in accordance with policies and procedures set forth by the Visitor Services Department.
- Performing other duties as specified and needed by department management.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication skills, a customer-centric mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Previous customer service experience is desired but not required.
Physical demands of this role include the ability to move 25 pounds, work in a variety of weather conditions, and sit or stand for long periods. The baseline work schedule for this position is weekdays and weekends, with a focus on open availability between 9am and 6pm. The hourly rate for this position is $17 per hour.
