City of New York is seeking a skilled Land Surveyor to join their infrastructure team in New York City. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.



Job Description

The successful candidate will assist in field data collection for various maps, including topographical, property line, damage & acquisition, completion surveys, and plan & profile maps. They will also be responsible for drafting field sketches, level notes, and documents related to the maintenance of survey equipment within an assigned vehicle.



Required Skills and Qualifications


  • A baccalaureate degree in surveying, surveying engineering, or a related field, and two years of full-time satisfactory land surveying experience; or
  • An associate degree in a related field, and four years of full-time satisfactory experience; or
  • A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent, and six years of full-time satisfactory experience;
  • A valid motor vehicle driver's license in the State of New York, which must be maintained for the duration of employment.

Assignment Levels

Assignment Level I-A requires a minimum of three years of full-time satisfactory experience, while Assignment Level I-B requires at least one additional year of experience. Assignment Level II requires two additional years of experience, and Assignment Level III requires three additional years of experience and registration as a New York State Land Surveyor.
