Position Overview:
Genesis10 is seeking a Software Asset Management (SAM) Expert to support our client in the Energy and Utilities sector. This role focuses on managing software utilization and compliance data, ensuring adherence to licensing agreements and optimizing software assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee software licenses to ensure compliance with company policies and agreements.
  • Design and implement SAM tools and technologies, particularly focusing on license management solutions.
  • Manage and troubleshoot SAM tools to enhance software lifecycle management.
  • Conduct audits to improve software license data accuracy and management.
  • Analyze customer software lifecycle management processes and implement improvements.
  • Provide data, reports, and dashboards to track software lifecycle management and return on investment.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to enhance understanding of software licensing processes.
  • Assist in training and developing staff on software licensing tools and procedures.
  • Research and present findings on software licensing to management.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving technologies and their implications for software compliance.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Software Asset Management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage large data sets.
  • Familiarity with Flexera products and various Tier 1 vendor license models.
  • Ability to create Effective License Positions using SAM tools.
  • Proficient in Excel for reporting purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA for software requests and ticketing.
  • Knowledge of enterprise security in relation to software.
  • Project management experience and certifications in Software Asset Management.

Success Metrics:
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage software licensing, contribute to process improvements, and maintain compliance within the organization.
