Asset & Wealth Management Division

Private Wealth Management (PWM)

Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in developing comprehensive wealth management strategies for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions. PWM teams engage directly with clients to provide tailored strategies based on our extensive investment expertise and diverse wealth management capabilities. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) offer an unmatched investment platform that includes a full range of products and services, which may encompass tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning, and private banking services.

Key Responsibilities

The PWM Data Distribution team is tasked with delivering a next-generation data platform and services to meet the growing demands of the business. We seek proficient Java developers with a solid understanding of database concepts to contribute to this strategic initiative.

Our engineers tackle complex challenges and have the chance to work at the forefront of technological innovation alongside industry leaders, making significant contributions to the field. Software is developed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to market and client needs to provide robust solutions in an ever-evolving business landscape. PWM Technology builds on advanced in-house platforms while emphasizing the use of open-source solutions. We engineer tools and services that unify and scale the Wealth Management division, delivering data solutions that encompass Sales, Client Servicing, Research, Portfolio Management, and Trading.

Technologies Utilized

You will engage with a variety of systems and programming languages to construct a data pipeline capable of ingesting millions of data points daily and develop highly available data processing and REST services to distribute data to various consumers across PWM. Technologies employed include:

  • Data Technologies: Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Presto, Alloy
  • Programming Languages: Java, Scala, Scripting
  • Database Technologies: MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Cassandra, MemSQL, Sybase IQ / ASE
  • Microservice Technologies: REST, Spring Boot, Jersey
  • Build and CI/CD Technologies: Gradle, Jenkins, Gitlabs, SVN
  • Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with Kubernetes is advantageous

Skills and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Java, Scala, Scripting, REST, Spring Boot, Jersey
  • Experience with Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, MemSQL, Sybase IQ / ASE
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with relevant technologies
  • Experience in the finance industry is preferred
