Position Overview:
Genesis10 is in search of a Software Asset Management (SAM) Expert to support our client in the Energy and Utilities sector. This role focuses on ensuring effective software utilization and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee software license management to guarantee adherence to policies and agreements.
  • Design and implement SAM tools and technologies, ideally utilizing Flexera solutions, to facilitate software lifecycle management.
  • Manage and troubleshoot SAM tools to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct audits and enhance software license data management.
  • Analyze software lifecycle management processes and provide actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track software ROI.
  • Support the IT team in understanding and forecasting software licenses through collaboration and clear communication.
  • Assist in training staff on software licensing processes and tools.
  • Engage in contract negotiations related to software licensing, providing necessary data and insights.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Software Asset Management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage large data sets.
  • Familiarity with Flexera products and Tier 1 vendor license models.
  • Proficient in creating reports and managing software optimization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA for software requests and installations.
  • Knowledge of enterprise security as it pertains to software.
  • Project management experience and certifications in Software Asset Management.

Success Metrics:
Success in this role will be measured by the ability to effectively manage software licenses, contribute to the maintenance of the company’s active licenses position, and enhance software licensing processes in a constructive manner.
