Asset & Wealth Management Division

Private Wealth Management (PWM)

Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in developing comprehensive wealth management strategies for high net worth individuals, families, and select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM teams engage directly with clients to provide tailored strategies derived from our extensive investment expertise, diverse wealth management capabilities, and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) offer an unparalleled investment platform that includes the full spectrum of Goldman Sachs' products and services, which may encompass tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning, and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close partnership enables the team to present complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond.

Responsibilities

The PWM Data Distribution team is tasked with delivering the next-generation data platform and services, assisting in scaling to meet the growing demands of the business. We seek proficient Java developers with a solid understanding of database concepts to contribute to this strategic initiative.

Our engineering team addresses the most complex challenges and has the opportunity to work at the forefront of technological innovation alongside industry leaders, making significant contributions to the field. Software is developed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to market and customer requirements to deliver robust solutions in an ever-evolving business landscape. PWM Technology builds upon advanced in-house platforms complemented by a strong emphasis on leveraging open-source solutions. Engineer tools and services that unify and scale the Wealth Management division, providing data solutions that encompass Sales, Client Servicing, Research, Portfolio Management, and Trading.

Key Qualifications

  • Exposure to various data management and modeling tools for data storage, discovery, curation, retrieval, analysis, and sharing.
  • Building frameworks for computing and enriching data entities and their distribution using existing data platform components.
  • Enhancing existing systems and modernizing them with new platforms.
  • Collaborating with teams across global counterparts.
  • Designing, developing, testing, and deploying software using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Introducing productivity and efficiency improvements by leveraging the appropriate technology stack.
  • Participating in code reviews and collaborating in experimenting with new technology stacks.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Java, Scala, Scripting, REST, Spring Boot, Jersey.
  • Experience with Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, MemSQL, Sybase IQ / ASE.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with relevant technologies.
  • Experience in the finance industry is preferred.
