Overview:

The Community Outreach Coordinator plays a pivotal role in establishing direct, personal connections with ecclesiastical ministries, churches, bible institutes, and community organizations to secure funding and attract potential students and participants for Centro Latino initiatives, professional certifications, and related events within the Houston/Texas region.

This position is essential for the success of the Centro Latino mission, focusing on enhancing and nurturing partnerships, community-driven research, outreach, and educational programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and negotiation abilities, and have a genuine passion for empowering individuals to thrive.

Additionally, this role will collaborate closely with the Houston campus team to ensure mutual benefits for both Centro Latino and Fuller TX's objectives. Regular participation in weekly Houston team meetings and any other necessary gatherings will be required.

This is a part-time, temporary role (20 hours per week) with an anticipated duration of three years.

The Community Outreach Coordinator will report directly to the director of Centro Latino, with accountability to the Chancellor of Fuller TX.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster professional and supportive relationships with existing partners, strategic individuals, or organizations.
  • Research potential partners and create collaboration opportunities with Hispanic-focused community organizations and individuals.
  • Conduct market analysis to evaluate Centro Latino's educational offerings, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
  • Serve as an instructor and/or facilitator based on relevant education and experience.
  • Plan and organize various meetings, seminars, conferences, and related training, research, and dissemination events.
  • Create printed materials, PowerPoint presentations, and related resources for use during engagements with potential Centro Latino donors, students, and participants.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the director of Centro Latino.
Required Qualifications:
  • Fully bilingual (fluent in reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking both Spanish and English).
  • Understanding of Spanish and English-speaking church contexts, with the ability to effectively communicate with seminary donors, students, and participants.
  • A master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, theology, ministry, or leadership) is required.
  • Three to five years of relevant professional experience are necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage warmly, professionally, and effectively with individuals both over the phone and in person.
  • Creative problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Capability to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment, managing short-term and long-term projects simultaneously with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Willingness to dedicate some evenings or weekends to special events.
Additional Information:
  • Must be willing to adhere to Fuller Community Standards.
  • This position may require occasional visits to the Houston, TX campus.
Compensation:
  • Hourly rate expected: $25.00 per hour USD.
