Position Summary:

The Community Outreach Coordinator plays a pivotal role in establishing personal connections with ecclesiastical ministries, churches, bible institutes, and community organizations. The primary objective is to foster financial support and attract prospective students and participants for Centro Latino's programs, professional certifications, and related events in the Houston/Texas region.

This role is essential for the success of Centro Latino's mission, focusing on enhancing and nurturing partnerships while contributing to community-oriented research, outreach, and educational initiatives. We seek an individual with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, who demonstrates initiative, sound judgment, and negotiation abilities, and is genuinely passionate about empowering individuals.

Collaboration with the Houston campus team is vital, ensuring mutual benefits for both Centro Latino and Fuller TX. This includes regular participation in weekly team meetings and any additional required gatherings.

This is a part-time, temporary position (20 hours per week) with an anticipated duration of three years.

The Community Outreach Coordinator will report directly to the director of Centro Latino, with accountability to the Chancellor of Fuller TX.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with existing partners and strategic organizations.
  • Research potential partners and create opportunities for collaboration with Hispanic-focused community organizations.
  • Conduct market analysis to evaluate Centro Latino's educational offerings, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
  • Serve as an instructor or facilitator based on relevant education and experience.
  • Organize meetings, seminars, conferences, and related training and dissemination events.
  • Create printed materials, presentations, and resources for outreach to potential donors, students, and participants.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the director of Centro Latino.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, with the ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak fluently.
  • Understanding of both Spanish and English-speaking church contexts, with effective communication skills for engaging with seminary stakeholders.
  • A master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, theology, ministry, or leadership) is required.
  • Three to five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage warmly and professionally with individuals in various settings.
  • Creative problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritizing and completing both short-term and long-term projects with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to dedicate time to special events, including evenings or weekends.

Additional Information:

  • Adherence to Fuller Community Standards is required.
  • Occasional visits to the Houston, TX campus may be necessary.

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate: $25.00 per hour USD
