Job Overview

This position is responsible for managing existing life and health insurance accounts. The role involves providing assistance to agents to promote the development of new business opportunities while ensuring the retention of current clients. The specialist will oversee the sales of individual life and health insurance products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to current clients, ensuring all interactions are accurately recorded in the agency management system.
  • Engage with clients to assess their insurance requirements and recommend suitable products tailored to their specific needs.
  • Review current accounts and propose additional coverage options as necessary.
  • Gather quotes for potential clients.
  • Negotiate terms and premiums with underwriters, possessing the authority to bind coverage on behalf of various insurance agencies.
  • Assist existing clients with their daily insurance needs.
  • Maintain a valid license in good standing as mandated by the relevant insurance department.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Complete all required compliance training associated with the role.
  • Understand and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations relevant to the position.

Perform any other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Preferred experience of five (5) to ten (10) years in a similar role.
  • Prior experience in risk management and customer service is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with agency management and carrier rating systems is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently to meet sales objectives.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.

Education

A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Licenses

An Indiana Life & Health license is required.

Travel Requirements

Willingness to travel to various locations for meetings, projects, and seminars, including overnight travel as needed.
