EPIC Support Specialist - Clinic Medical Assistant
Job Overview:
The EPIC Support Specialist demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the EPIC electronic health record system along with the specific operational workflows of Powers Health.
This role involves providing direct assistance during both the pre-implementation phase and the post-launch support as designated.The EPIC Support Specialist may also undertake front desk responsibilities and clinical tasks as required within the physician practices of Powers Health.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
- Prior experience with the EPIC electronic health record system is essential.
- Competence in Windows-based desktop applications is required.
- The EPIC Support Specialist must exhibit a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and effective communication abilities to engage with patients, family members, healthcare providers, and other staff members.
- Capability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment is necessary.
- Basic knowledge of medical documentation and terminology; ability to spell accurately; capable of accurately recording information.
- Must be able to maintain composure and efficiency in busy or high-pressure situations.
- Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to travel is expected.
If functioning in a Clinical Support capacity:
Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required OR current certification as a Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant is necessary; Six months of prior experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred; Must uphold current CPR certification and TB certification.
