Job Summary:

Raytheon is seeking a highly skilled Semiconductor Process Engineer Lead to join our III-V process development team working on gallium nitride-based devices and III-V focal plane array fabrication within the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute process development efforts to improve product yield and develop new processes and device capabilities.
  • Develop proof of concept demonstrations of novel semiconductor processes and identify yield and process improvement opportunities.
  • Manage small projects or processes within area of responsibility and work autonomously with limited oversight.
  • Provide input or guidance to lower-level professionals with tasks and assignments and influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Communicate with parties within and outside of own department and have responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 8 years' of prior work experience, an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' of prior work experience, or a PhD and a minimum 3 years' of prior work experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor processing techniques such as photo lithography, dry etching, wet etching, plating, metals evaporation, and optical or scanning electron microscope inspections.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required post-start. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or PhD in STEM.
  • Experience in semiconductor processing techniques in wet etch, wet cleans, and plating process areas.
  • Experience working in a controlled, cleanroom environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting a diverse set of fabrication equipment in addition to establishing equipment qualification and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Experience with statistical process control and lean manufacturing methods (eg, Six Sigma).
  • Clearly and succinctly document and present process development status in a team meeting.
  • Experience utilizing data analysis software packages (e.g. MATLAB, Python, SQL, JMP).
  • Collaborate and lead and coordinate technical projects with diverse and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with characterizing, understanding, and improving semiconductor device performance and reliability.
