We are looking for a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer with expertise in inertial navigation to enhance our innovative projects.

Role Summary: In the capacity of Senior GNC Engineer, your primary focus will be on the design, development, and execution of advanced inertial navigation algorithms tailored for our AUVs. You will work closely with a diverse team of engineers and researchers to improve the efficiency and dependability of our navigation systems.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute advanced inertial navigation algorithms for AUVs, incorporating sensor fusion and error correction methodologies.
  • Conduct comprehensive simulations and field evaluations to validate and enhance inertial navigation systems.
  • Integrate inertial navigation frameworks with various AUV subsystems, including guidance and control components.
  • Perform in-depth analysis and assessment of inertial navigation system performance.
  • Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to inertial navigation.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers, offering technical expertise in inertial navigation and GNC methodologies.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in inertial navigation technologies and implement relevant advancements in our projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the development and implementation of inertial navigation systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of inertial measurement units (IMUs), sensor fusion techniques, and error modeling.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python and C/C++, with additional knowledge of Rust being advantageous.
  • Experience in underwater vehicles or robotics is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, demonstrated through successful project outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts effectively.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with AUV-specific sensors and their integration, including sonar and Doppler Velocity Log (DVL).
  • Experience in programming microcontrollers, such as STM32.
  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems.
  • Understanding of machine learning applications in navigation challenges.
