Position Overview: As a Precision Machinist at Vatn Systems, you will be integral to the creation and assembly of components for our advanced underwater vehicles. Collaborating closely with our engineering team, you will fabricate precision parts that are vital for the performance and dependability of our AUVs. This role emphasizes research and development, requiring meticulous attention to detail and exceptional machining skills in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and maintain both conventional and CNC machining tools, including mills, lathes, and grinders.
  • Weld aluminum components as necessary.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, applying GD&T notation to manufacture components to precise specifications.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of machined parts through rigorous inspection and quality control measures.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and designers to enhance the manufacturability of components.
  • Assist in the assembly of our underwater vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust machinery to maintain optimal performance.
  • Select appropriate materials and tooling for various projects.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience as a Machinist with a strong focus on precision machining.
  • Skilled in operating and setting up both conventional and CNC machine tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints accurately.
  • Knowledge of machining techniques and materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective team player capable of meeting project deadlines.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is advantageous.
  • A genuine interest in innovative technology and a commitment to contributing to the development of autonomous underwater vehicles.
