Position Title: Head of Operational Accounting

Location: Remote (Eastern Time Zone)
Compensation: $147 per hour

Position Summary

We are in search of a seasoned and proficient Head of Operational Accounting to spearhead an SAP implementation initiative and enhance financial operations. This remote position will play a crucial role in facilitating a seamless implementation journey while ensuring sustained operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with IT, Finance, and various cross-functional teams.

Primary Responsibilities
  • SAP Implementation Assistance: Serve as a vital contributor to the SAP implementation project, working alongside IT, Finance, and business stakeholders to guarantee a smooth transition and financial precision.
  • Financial Governance: Partner with the Senior Director to fortify financial governance frameworks, which include updating weekly performance metrics, organizing workshops, and coordinating monthly reviews across Finance departments.
  • Process Enhancement: Assess and refine Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable operations by establishing policies, internal controls, key performance indicators, and process enhancements to ensure accurate and timely transaction management.
  • Shared Services Configuration: Collaborate with the Senior Director to define and propose a shared services framework, detailing roles, responsibilities, and effective operational methodologies.
  • Core Super User Responsibilities: Act as the primary super user for Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable and Trade management, serving as the main liaison for IT, business stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Documentation and Training: Document essential processes, including transition procedures, training materials, and business implications.
  • Special Projects: Lead special projects such as Accounts Payable supplier financing and support strategies for enhancing transaction processing efficiencies.
  • System Performance Optimization: Collaborate with the HighRadius team to stabilize and enhance system functionality.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience: Over 8 years in accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity. Proficiency in SAP or comparable systems is mandatory.
  • Skills: Strong financial acumen and analytical capabilities, leadership experience, and a proven track record of driving change and strategic initiatives.
  • Organizational Abilities: Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Collaborative Spirit: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across all organizational levels and with various functional areas.
  • Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with Oracle Accounting systems, High Radius, and Globe is advantageous.
  • Analytical Expertise: Capability to design financial and non-financial metrics and KPIs to improve business performance.
Educational Background and Certifications
  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous exposure to Strategic Planning, Business Analysis, or the food industry/CPG sector is beneficial.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of US GAAP, International Accounting Standards (IAS), and Nestle Accounting Standards (NAS) is a plus.
  • Financial Concepts: Familiarity with financial principles such as cost accounting, cash flow, NPV, ROI, etc.
Compensation Details: $130.00 to $147.00 per hour
