Position Overview:
This role acts as a financial business partner to Barry-Wehmiller's corporate functions and the head office of Packaging.

The position collaborates closely with the Corporate Finance Team to streamline and standardize processes, driving operational efficiencies throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the general ledgers for corporate and packaging head office, including various foreign holding company entities, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and balances are reported in compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
  • Provide expertise and support to accounting staff to guarantee timely and precise transaction recording; review the work of team members as assigned.
  • Coordinate the month-end closing process, including the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations/analysis in accordance with monthly and quarterly closing schedules.
  • Prepare and/or review monthly consolidated financial statements, management reports, and quarterly bank covenant reports, along with conducting monthly financial statement reviews, research, and analysis.
  • Assist in coordinating the corporate and packaging head office budget process and monthly forecast updates, and manage the monthly budget-to-actual analysis process.
  • Lead and coordinate the external audit and annual report preparation processes.
  • Design and implement efficient processes, enhance existing accounting policies and procedures, and identify and execute process improvements as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Research inquiries and provide accounting support/guidance to finance teams across multiple operating divisions.
  • Assist with purchase accounting and integration activities for acquisitions.
  • Lead and support special project work, ad hoc financial analysis, and embrace new opportunities as they arise.

Qualifications:
A strong work ethic, self-motivated, and a keen desire to learn and enhance processes.
Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with team members outside of finance and at all organizational levels.

Ability to engage with the necessary financial acumen with division accounting, operations, treasury, tax, and auditors as required.
Strong numerical/analytical skills, project management capabilities, and problem-solving aptitude.
A high degree of integrity, accuracy, and reliability.
Focus on continuous improvement and act as an effective change agent.
Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
Experience in identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA certification
3-6 years of accounting experience with increasing responsibility, ideally a blend of public accounting, corporate-level accounting, and/or manufacturing industry experience (multinational/multicurrency and supervisory experience preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel skills considered a plus.
Experience with OneStream Consolidation software and/or Infor XA/Mapics ERP software is advantageous.
