Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting: Analyze and process data necessary for internal and external financial reporting to federal, state, and local governmental agencies.
- Account Reconciliation: Prepare reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.
- Financial Closing: Accurately and timely complete the month-end closing process to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to improve efficiency while continually striving for process improvement.
- Additional Responsibilities: Budget development, fiscal monitoring, cost allocations, monthly invoicing, and performing accrual-based accounting activities.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Experience: 3 - 5 years of accounting experience working with federal, state, and local grants.
- Skills: Extensive knowledge of GAAP, COSO Internal Control Framework, and federal and state financial standards and regulations. Proficient in automated accounting systems with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Personal Qualities: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: Non-Profit accounting experience is preferred, knowledge of Head Start and/or Federal Grant Accounting is desired.
