Position Overview

Primary Objective:

  • Accountable for the setup, functioning, and upkeep of natural gas pipeline systems, compression facilities, and associated field operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, repair, service, and maintain valves, pipelines, generators, air compressors, pumps, gas compressors, and engines as required.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all company facilities and equipment, including pipeline right-of-way.
  • Engage in planning for equipment shutdowns, maintenance, and outages.
  • Supervise construction and maintenance activities conducted by external contractors, including monitoring of utility location requests.
  • Inspect work performed by third-party contractors and construction teams.
  • Conduct pipeline pigging operations as necessary.
  • Execute compliance activities, including line patrols, road and railroad crossing inspections, and valve assessments.
  • Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on compression station engines and related equipment.
  • Identify root causes of mechanical failures and ensure completion of necessary repairs.
  • Carry out minor electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Operate equipment such as compressor engines and pumps within specified operational parameters.
  • Contribute to the development of project scopes and work plans.
  • Represent the company in interactions with landowners, public officials, and at local meetings.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, addressing safety and environmental concerns.
  • Provide detailed information to assist in the creation and management of operational budgets.
  • Maintain records of company expenditures to support cash flow management and cost control.
  • Assist in the development of operational procedures and project scopes.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and record-keeping.
  • Adhere to company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate work activities to relevant parties.
  • Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong focus on personal safety and the safety of colleagues and company assets.
  • Respond to call-outs and work overtime as required, including nights and weekends.
  • Operate and maintain various equipment, including UTVs, ATVs, forklifts, and snow plows.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience and Knowledge:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient in the use of various hand tools.
  • Experience in diagnosing mechanical issues.
Certifications:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license meeting company insurability standards.
  • Required to achieve and maintain operator qualifications and obtain necessary certifications for specific job duties.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong commitment to completing all tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office and the ability to learn company software.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, follow directions, and adhere to schedules.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize and document work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to operational excellence.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit while working indoors or outdoors.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs consistently, and up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Physical dexterity and strength to perform job functions safely.
  • Ability to enter confined spaces and work from elevated platforms.
  • Must adhere to all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Travel may be required based on workload.
  • Must reside within a specified distance from the reporting location.
  • May be required to carry a company communication device for after-hours response.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with gas compressor stations and pipeline operations.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting equipment and identifying process failures.
  • Experience with maintenance tracking databases.
  • Knowledge of safe handling practices for flammable gases and pressure systems.

The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and background check prior to employment.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate with potential for discretionary annual incentives. Job level and pay commensurate with experience and skill set.
