Position Overview:
Accountable for the setup, functioning, and upkeep of natural gas pipelines, compression facilities, and associated field activities.

Key Responsibilities:


Execute installation, repair, servicing, and maintenance of valves, piping, and pipeline accessories, as well as generators, air compressors, pumps, gas compressors, and engines (reciprocating and turbine) as required.

Ensure the overall cleanliness and maintenance of all company facilities and equipment, including the pipeline right-of-way.
Engage in planning for equipment shutdowns, maintenance, and outages.
Supervise construction and/or maintenance tasks conducted by external contractors, including monitoring of one-call tickets.
Evaluate work performed by third-party contractors and construction teams.
Conduct pigging operations as necessary.

Carry out compliance activities mandated by governmental regulations, including but not limited to:
line patrols, inspections of road and railroad crossings, and valve assessments.
Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on compression station engines and equipment.
Identify root causes of mechanical issues and failures, ensuring completion of necessary repairs.
Conduct minor electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
Start and stop operating equipment such as compressor engines and pumps within established operating parameters.
Contribute to the development of project scopes and work plans.
Act as a representative of the Company during interactions with landowners, public officials, emergency personnel, and at local meetings.
Recognize and report unsafe conditions while addressing safety and environmental concerns.
Provide detailed information to aid in the creation, planning, forecasting, and management of operational budgets.
Maintain records of company expenditures to assist with cash flow management, cost monitoring, and control.
Offer input for the formulation of O&M procedures, project scopes, and work plans.
Complete all necessary documentation and record-keeping.
Conduct all work in accordance with company standards, procedures, regulatory, and tariff requirements.
Communicate work activities to relevant parties.
Actively engage in safety programs and initiatives.
Maintain a strong commitment to personal safety, the safety of colleagues, the general public, and company assets.
Respond to on-call situations and work overtime as required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Operate and maintain various equipment (such as UTVs, ATVs, forklifts, skid steers, snow plows, etc.).
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience/Knowledge:
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Proficient in the use of various hand tools. Familiarity and experience in diagnosing mechanical issues.

Certifications/Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that meets company insurability criteria.

Will be required to achieve and maintain operator qualifications and may need to obtain certifications as necessary to perform specific job functions.


Skills:


Must have a strong focus on completing all assigned tasks in a safe and accident-free manner.

Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, various operating systems, and ability to learn company software). Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals). Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong customer service orientation.

Ability to collaborate with a team, take direction from supervisors, adhere to required work schedules, focus on details, and follow work protocols. Ability to organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with minimal supervision.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrate commitment to operational excellence.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires standing, walking, and sitting while working either indoors or outdoors.
Must be able to consistently lift a minimum of 20 lbs., and at times in awkward positions.
May need to lift (from floor to waist) and carry up to 50 lbs.

While performing the job, you will be required to lift and carry, pull or push, reach, squat, kneel, and/or climb ladders or stairs.

Physical dexterity, hand/grip strength, depth perception, and other physical attributes necessary to perform the job safely.

Ability to use hand tools and equipment, with repetitive hand use requiring grasping and twisting motions.
Must be able to frequently enter confined spaces and to climb and work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways.
May periodically work in low-light conditions.

Will periodically work in high noise environments (engines). Will work in extreme temperatures, including inside compressor buildings. Must adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines, including wearing full FRC.


Work Environment:
Must be able to drive and work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
Depending on the location and workload, travel may be necessary. Must reside within a reasonable distance from the reporting location.
May be required to carry a company-provided communication device to respond during both working and non-working hours.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with gas compressor stations and pipeline operations.
Experience troubleshooting equipment and identifying process failures.
Maintenance tracking database experience.
Safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids, and high/low pressure systems.

The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to employment.


Compensation:
$42.00 per hour. This position includes a discretionary annual incentive plan. Job level and pay commensurate with experience and skill set.
