You will report to the Director of Benefits. This role primarily focuses on the administration of leave of absence programs at Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE). The responsibilities encompass FMLA, ADA, maternity/paternity leave, personal leave, and workers' compensation within the United States. The Leave Manager will collaborate with the employee relations department to facilitate reasonable accommodations and modified work schedules, as well as partner with legal counsel on critical matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the leave of absence vendor and act as the main contact for various leave types, including FMLA, State Family Leaves, Short-term Disability, Long-term Disability, Military Leave, General Leave, and Paid Parental Leave.
  • Serve as the intermediary between the leave of absence third-party administrator, employee relations, legal counsel, and P&O Business Partners, addressing and resolving all partner inquiries.
  • Evaluate benefits and payroll implications for employees on leave.
  • Ensure the HRIS system accurately reflects the status of employees on leave.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly and accurately to leave-related inquiries through various communication channels.
  • Conduct quarterly employee presentations to explain company policies regarding CA Pregnancy Disability and Paid Family Leave.
  • Assist in reviewing and implementing new processes and procedures, updating Leave of Absence forms, templates, and policies as necessary.
  • Provide tailored departmental training to meet specific needs.
  • Training topics may include: fundamentals of Workers' Compensation, Disability Management Services (DMS), the Return-to-Work process, rights and responsibilities, and the interplay between RTW, ADA, and FMLA.
  • Stay informed about the evolving landscape of leave regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Manage monthly benefit invoicing and auditing to ensure alignment with payroll and accounting.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR and/or Legal fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in regulatory compliance including EEO, FMLA, ADA, WC, etc.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:
  • Up-to-date knowledge of government regulations related to compliance.
  • Proficient in calculating statutory benefit offsets and auditing payroll reports.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (including Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build effective relationships with P&O Business Partners, HRIS, HR Shared Services Team, Legal, Finance, Accounting, and other stakeholders.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Able to thrive in a team setting while also working independently.
  • Solution-oriented with a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • High attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Workday and Salesforce is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint environments.
  • Demonstrated passion and urgency for execution; a natural curiosity and willingness to take calculated risks; ability to approach human resources innovatively.
  • Exhibits confidence, credibility, and sound judgment.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $71,000. This role may also qualify for incentives and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on various factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education, certifications, and other professional licenses held.
