Position Overview:

You will report to the Director of Benefits, focusing on the administration of leave of absence programs at Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE). This role encompasses various types of leave, including FMLA, ADA, maternity/paternity, personal leave, and workers' compensation within the United States.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Oversee the leave of absence vendor and act as the primary contact for all leave-related matters, including FMLA, State Family Leaves, Short-term Disability, Long-term Disability, Military, General, and Paid Parental leaves.

2. Serve as a liaison among the leave of absence third-party administrator, employee relations, legal counsel, and P&O Business Partners, addressing and resolving any concerns.

3. Evaluate benefits and payroll implications for employees on leave.

4. Ensure that the HRIS system accurately reflects the status of employees on leave.

5. Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly and accurately to leave-related inquiries through various communication channels.

6. Conduct quarterly presentations for employees regarding CA Pregnancy Disability, Paid Family Leave, and company policies.

7. Assist in reviewing and implementing new processes and updating Leave of Absence forms, templates, and policies.

8. Provide tailored departmental training on topics such as Workers Compensation fundamentals, Disability Management Services (DMS), the Return-to-Work process, and the relationship between RTW, ADA, and FMLA.

9. Stay informed about changes in regulations governing leaves at federal, state, and local levels.

10. Manage monthly benefit invoicing and auditing to ensure alignment with payroll and accounting.


Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

Experience:
3+ years in HR and/or Legal fields.

3+ years in regulatory compliance including EEO, FMLA, ADA, WC, etc.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:
Up-to-date knowledge of government regulations regarding compliance.

Proficient in calculating statutory benefit offsets and auditing payroll reports.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (including Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across various departments.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting as well as independently.

Creative problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills to meet deadlines.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.


Desired:
Experience with Workday and Salesforce is preferred.

Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint environments.
