Role Overview

The Learning Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving excellence in teaching and learning within the school community. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced educator who can model high-quality teaching practices, provide expert advice, and lead the development of whole-school improvement strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement high-quality teaching and learning programs that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to teachers on curriculum planning, delivery, and assessment.
  • Lead the development and implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to teaching and learning.
  • Model and promote exemplary classroom practice, including through teaching demonstration lessons.
  • Collaborate with the school leadership team to develop a shared view of highly effective teacher practice.
  • Provide evidence-based feedback to teaching staff to inform their effectiveness and development.
  • Supervise and train student teachers and mentor and/or coach teachers to improve their practice.
  • Develop and promote school-wide professional learning structures, processes, and protocols through Professional Learning Communities.
Requirements
  • Provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
  • Demonstrated expertise in high-quality teaching and learning practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, school leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills.
Working Arrangements

The successful applicant will be required to work collaboratively with the school community to drive excellence in teaching and learning. This will involve working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
