Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead project management and provide technical direction for a diverse range of SwRI initiatives, primarily within the aerospace sector.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers from various institutions to meet program objectives effectively.
  • Utilize strong analytical and innovative capabilities to guide complex, multi-disciplinary teams, including electrical, software, mechanical, and systems engineers.
  • Prepare technical and financial reports to fulfill contractual requirements and ensure effective communication among team members.
  • Contribute to the overall management of deliverables and budget considerations throughout the program lifecycle.


Daily Tasks:
  • Oversee the design, construction, integration, and testing of flight hardware projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Facilitate regular meetings to maintain oversight, provide direction, and ensure effective communication among team members, which may involve travel.
  • Deliver technical presentations to clients and internal leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Systems department to ensure compliance with quality standards and contractual obligations.
  • Support business development initiatives by interfacing with clients to define project requirements and developing technical proposals.


Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
  • 10 years of experience in program management and technical project leadership within the aerospace industry, including managing diverse engineering teams and client interactions.
  • Strong organizational, management, communication, technical, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of Risk Management, Configuration Management, and Earned Value Management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and Project, with the ability to learn internal software and procedures.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
