POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Global Manufacturing, Operations, and Regulatory Affairs, the Senior Process Engineering Leader will play a pivotal role within the Manufacturing division. This position is tasked with the development and oversight of Elos pilot initiatives, collaborating closely with Research and Development on preliminary studies, as well as enhancing and optimizing the production of ingredients to align with commercial standards.

This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the design and establishment of Elos agricultural supply chain and production capabilities, while also aiding in the formation of the team that will facilitate the launch of Elos inaugural products.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Oversee and manage Elos pilot studies in collaboration with Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) to ensure timely and scalable production of ingredients, while bridging with R&D on preliminary studies for optimal resource utilization.
  • Accountable for the successful scale-up, validation, and delivery of new ingredients that meet commercial specifications.
  • Conduct experimental designs to enhance production processes, assess and refine manufacturing capabilities, and develop innovative solutions for effective ingredient production and scaling.
  • Lead the identification, design, development, testing, and qualification of process systems to support ingredient production, ensuring the seamless integration of process requirements and specifications, including conducting techno-economic modeling.
  • Provide technical leadership to resolve operational challenges related to manufacturability, adherence to specifications, material utilization, and process bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain teams to optimize the supply chain, manage scaling and pilot partnerships, source ingredients, and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Deliver regular updates and forecasts to senior leadership, coordinating with Elos R&D and commercial teams for pilot trials, commercial scaling, and ingredient delivery.
  • Willingness to travel 30-50% of the time, particularly during peak operational periods.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Master's or Doctorate in Chemical Engineering (or Food Processing) or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in food manufacturing.
  • Experience in plant operations with a focus on scaling and process enhancement.
  • Familiarity with biotechnology applications in agriculture is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of chromatography and its applications is advantageous but not essential.
  • A solutions-oriented leader capable of identifying improvement opportunities, troubleshooting, and implementing new processes.
