Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead project management and provide technical direction for a diverse range of SwRI initiatives, primarily within the aerospace domain.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers from various institutions to meet program objectives effectively.
  • Utilize strong analytical and innovative capabilities to guide complex, multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring collaboration among electrical, software, mechanical, and systems engineers.
  • Prepare technical and financial reports to fulfill contractual requirements and facilitate communication among team members.
  • Contribute to the management of deliverables and budget considerations throughout the project lifecycle, with a keen understanding of time, resources, and financial aspects.


Daily Tasks:
  • Oversee the design, construction, integration, and testing of flight hardware projects, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Conduct regular meetings to maintain oversight, provide direction, and ensure effective communication among team members, which may involve travel.
  • Draft technical and financial reports to meet contractual obligations and enhance team communication.
  • Deliver technical presentations to clients and internal leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Systems department to ensure compliance with all quality standards and contractual obligations.
  • Support business development initiatives by interfacing with clients to clarify requirements and assist in the preparation of technical and cost proposals.


Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
  • 10 years of experience in program management and leadership of technical projects within the aerospace sector, including managing diverse engineering teams and client interactions.
  • 10 years of demonstrated organizational, management, communication, technical, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with Risk Management, Configuration Management, Earned Value Management, Resource Management, and government contract management is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and Project. Ability to learn internal software and procedures is necessary.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
